About Rabbi / Cantor Stephanie Shore

Stephanie received her Bachelors Degree from Florida International University, majoring in voice (under full scholarship for four years) she grew up learning her Cantorial knowledge the old shtetl way from her mother. She comes by it honestly she says, “It’s in my blood.”

Rabbi/Cantor Shore enjoyed a stellar career serving as Cantor of Congregation B’nai Israel in Boca Raton, Florida for 27 years. However she desired more. Wanting to deepen her Jewish knowledge she went back to school to receive her Rabbinic Smicha from the Jewish Spiritual Leaders Institute in January of 2018. She is grateful to combine her cantorial and rabbinic gifts to engage the community in healing and growing their Jewish roots. She has a way of awakening your desire to journey towards your Jewish soul.

She has entertained across the United States, and other parts of the world, including Israel and South America, since she was a teenager appearing as an actress in Broadway type and musical reviews. Rabbi/Cantor Shore has also composed many original English and Hebrew melodies.  Her compositions have been published by the Women Cantors Network and Transcontinental Music, an arm of the Union for Reform Judaism. Rabbi/Cantor Shore and her mother, Cantor Rita Shore, harmonize together on a wonderful recordings that are available through cdbaby and YouTube.

Rabbi/Cantor Shore, along with Rabbi Agler, have composed many Purim Shpiels and the two have affectionately become known as the King and Queen of the Purim Shpiel. Their Shpiels have been performed on stages and pulpits all over the globe. Visit the website at purimshpiels.com.

Her spirituality helps many to open the door to their own spiritual experiences. Through her guided Musical Meditations Rabbi/Cantor Shore leads people on a soulful journey that uplifts spirits and rejuvenates the body, mind and soul.

Rabbi/Cantor Shore developed this website where the students of all ages can listen to and learn their Torah portions, Haftarah portions, Prayers and Blessings. The site is used by congregations all over the world.

The Jewish Journal took a readers’ poll to name the “Best Things in South Florida.” Cantor Shore was named “Best Cantor.” She was the recipient of the “Breaking the Glass Ceiling Award” presented to Florida women who make a difference.  She also was awarded with the “Sh‘ma Yisrael Award” presented by Israel Bonds.  Rabbi/Cantor Shore has also been invited as an Artist in Residence, sharing her gifts and talents with other congregations.  In addition, she has appeared on SiriusXM radio, T.V., and has been publicized in numerous newspaper articles, book and magazine publications.
